LSG Subsea has relocated to a new, larger facility in Kemnay, Aberdeenshire to support its rapid growth. The move increases workshop capacity for Schilling manipulator servicing and enhances high-precision subsea tooling capabilities.
This strategic relocation marks a significant milestone in the company’s evolution, providing the physical infrastructure necessary to meet the increasing global demand for elite ROV intervention support. By moving to a more expansive, purpose-built site, LSG Subsea is better equipped to deliver the rapid turnaround times and technical precision that the offshore energy and subsea sectors require.
Expanded workshop & technical infrastructure
The new Kemnay facility has been designed to streamline the lifecycle management of complex subsea assets. The increased square footage allows for a more sophisticated workshop layout, specifically tailored to high-end hydraulic and electronic servicing.- Dedicated Manipulator Service Hub: A controlled environment specifically for the complete teardown, repair, and recalibration of Schilling T4, Atlas, Orion and industry ROV manipulator arms.
- Upgraded Hydraulic Testing Suites: Enhanced diagnostic and pressure-testing stations that allow for real-world simulation of subsea conditions, ensuring every asset is field-ready.
- Clean Room & Electronics Lab: Improved areas for the delicate work required on master-slave controllers and high-precision feedback systems.
Strengthening subsea tooling rentals
Beyond maintenance, the move bolsters LSG Subsea’s rental and bespoke tooling divisions. The additional capacity ensures that a wider range of subsea mission-critical equipment is maintained in-house and ready for immediate mobilisation.- Increased Inventory Capacity: Ample space for an expanding fleet of ROV-deployable tools, from cutters and grinders to ROV manipulator arms.
- Integrated Logistics: The new site offers improved access for heavy transport, facilitating smoother equipment intake and dispatch for fast-track North Sea projects.
- Technical Synergy: Bringing the engineering and workshop teams together in a larger collaborative space accelerates the development of custom subsea solutions.
